Tartan Hill Equestrian Services LLC is based in Green Bay, WI and is owned and operated by the Doug and Debbie Irvine family.
Tartan Hill strives to provide an environment that encourages our clients to grow and learn both as a team and as individuals through their involvement with horses.
Tartan Hill provides lessons and show preparation in saddle seat, hunt seat, western and driving for Morgans, Arabs and National Show Horses. We specialize in equitation and working with junior exhibitors and amateurs.
With over 35 years of experience in the horse industry, the Irvines have a broad range of talents that they bring together and combine to make Tartan Hill.
Doug Irvine- Doug grew up on a Morgan breeding farm and showed Morgans throughout his youth. He was the Morgan breed's fifth Justin Morgan Award winner. He has sat on the AMHI board and the AMHA Youth Steering Committee and was named the 1998 AMHA Youth Person of the Year. Doug enjoys in hand and driving horses and working with equitation riders. Doug is also a certified farrier who specializes in weighted shoeing.
Debbie Irvine- Debbie grew up showing Quarter Horses and working on her parents' farm. She became involved with Morgans after meeting Doug. Debbie currently manages Tartan Hill's operations. In addition, Debbie has an eye for fashion and her show outfit combinations have been seen in the winner's circle time and again.
The Girls- Doug and Debbie have three girls, Ashley, Andrea and Kelsey, who have been involved with horses their whole lives. From leadline to the amateur ranks, the Irvine girls have been making a splash on the Morgan show scene for many years. The girls and their geldings, EHM The Ransom Note "Bomber," EHM Up For Ransom "Beamer" and MS Tornado "Thunder" have competed in equitation and pleasure.
Before his retirement Beamer garnered many wins in english pleasure, hunter pleasure and hunt seat equitation with Ashley. Bomber and Andrea were known during their time together in the equitation ring as the team to beat. They enjoyed numerous championships, medals and cups before Andrea aged out and Bomber teamed with Kelsey. Kelsey spent her walk trot years with Thunder before stepping up to equitation with Bomber and now Deer Creek Grand Duke "Flirt". After finishing a successful career in equitation, Flirt and Kelsey will be competing in Amateur Park Saddle.
